When you’re trying to lose weight you do more repetitions with less weight. You need to do some resistance and some aerobic exercise. I would alternate daily. One day do resistance training and one day do aerobic activity like running or walking or dancing. I used to have an octogym and I did every exercise I could do with it every other day and then walked for 30 minutes to an hour on the alternating days. Once I had reached my target weight I added weight and did fewer repetitions to work on toning. The rule of thumb is 2 or three sets of 20 to 25 repetitions of each exercise but if you are new to working out it’s a good idea to start out a little slower and build up. Don’t try to do too much and if you go on-line you can find sites to demonstrate proper form for each exercise, including walking. if you go to http://www.universalgym.com you can find an excercise program designed for your equipment. Good luck.

I’m not a female, but was 195lbs over weight @ 425lbs. I began a workout routine doing 3 reps of every exersize on a universal gym, starting at 6am finishing at 7:15 am, then i do 3 miles walking laps around a track, then 10-15 laps in the pool. Then i’d go home a 5minute walk away. Have a light lunch, rest for 4 hours then at 4pm i do the same routine again finishing at around 630pm.

I do this 6 days a week. I’ve been at it for 18 months I reached 225 lbs about 2 months ago so i lost 200lbs.

Basically, it takes hard work and dedication to get the weight off and keep it off. I’ve never been in better physical health/shape in my lifetime not even when i was in highschool.

I’m 52 and let me tell ya, it’s well worth the effort one makes to get the weight off and to feeling really good. It does alot for the
emotions as well, i’m not depressed anymore.

It hurts the pocket book at times, cause now i can buy designer clothes and i look pretty sharp in them, something i’ve never been able to do in my lifetime til now.

Something i never did before now, is be seen by anyone without a shirt, as my rolls of lard were so sickening looking, now I go without one every chance i get. I like to show off my body now i’ve earned it and wish i’d done this many years ago.
