Does anyone know of any good workout routines for beginners?

by Workout Fiend on May 20, 2010

Okay folks, I am seriously out of shape. I haven’t worked in about two years, literally! I am 27 years old, 5’7, and I weigh about 150 pounds. I’m pretty sure I need to do some cardio. But I have no idea what to do or how to get started. I also know that I am probably going to be out of breath in a matter of minutes b/c I do not participate in ANY physical activity. Does anyone know of any workout routines or videos? Or just any ideas at all? I preferrably would like to start working out in my apartment for the first few weeks until I build my stamina up, then I will visit the gym.

just turn on your favorite dance cd..and start cleaning your entire house. blast the music and dance while you clean. i do this everyother day. also, drink lots of water and go for evening or early morning walks i have been doing this for a couple weeks and im already seeing my inches shrink. and over all just be full of life and have fun! hope this works. also theres a work out video that me and my sister-in-law purchased it is amazing its called zumba and price ranges from 50-60 dollars.really hope this helps hon good luck !

Try lying on your back,
put your feet in the air,
arms bent with your hands hovering by your ears but not touching them,
and lifting your body, and holding it for two seconds before lying down again.
Do ten of these stomach crunches in a row and rest for about a minute.

Turn on your side and get in a comfy position for you, and keep your legs straight. Lift one of you legs to the sky, and lower it without touching your other leg, and do 10 of these and rest, and do 10 on the other leg.

Also, you can find a step and step up, and step down. Sounds silly but does work!

If you repeat these small work outs about 6 times a day for about a few weeks, you will notice the changes, and will feel more confident going to the gym
good luck
