I don’t really like doing workout videos bcuz some are too easy, and some are too confusing. So i decided that i should start jogging. What part of your body does joggiong work out? And how can i become a good runner? my mile was 8 minutes and 20 seconds. is that good for a 13 year old who is out of shape? (5’3,129 pounds.) I just want to be able to get my speed a little bit faster and i want to lose weight.

Jogging is good exercise if done on a regular basis. Daily jogging is best. The point in jogging is not how fast you do each mile, but hitting your Target Heart Rate to burn maximum calories.
Working up to about 2 miles a day will get you in good shape if you stick with it.
Good running is about technique. Letting gravity pull you most of the way. At thirteen your body is still developing, so you need to be careful with the type of excersizes that you are doing. Ask your pediatrician before you start working out, and start slow, remember to stretch well, no sense in hurting yourself.
There are other things you can do as well as just jogging to strengthen your body and get into shape, proper diet, coupled with appropriate workouts are best. Cardio workouts will help with your running as well because you will not get as winded as quickly, and your circulation will be better.
The most important thing is to have three things, motivation, dedication and patience.

I would jog for 5 – 6 MPH at a time and then crank it up to 8 – 10 mph for 30 seconds to 1 minute then back to a jogging pace.. this will maximize fat burning.
