how do i increase my stamina.before you ask,read details first please :)?

well i am 15 and overweight.i am about 190 but i don’t look it.the reason i don’t look it is because i have more muscle then fat.well i was overweight for 5 years now and i thought to myself,(man i really need to get in shape before i get to the point where i can’t do anything about it)so i started doing weight lifting and this home exercise ab workout machine.i lost a little weight and now i have more muscle then fat.now i wanna join boxing!!!!!ever since i joined boxing which was about 2 weeks ago i had low stamina.how do i gain my stamina.yesterday i had to run over 1 miles around the park but i couldn’t run much so i walked mostly through out all of it.all i wanna know is how?how do i gain stamina?am i suppose to eat healthier?i don’t wanna run to increase my stamina.i wan’t something easier.

Try the elliptical machine, I couldn’t run whatsoever and so I did the elliptical machine everyday, then one day at the gym they were all full so I hoped on a tredmill and I couldn’t believe how much I could run…. elliptical wont make you winded and tired as fast as running, but it burns almost the same amount of calories and is really good for your legs

i’m afraid life isn’t as easy as you want it to be. i was just like you when i started boxing. i couldn’t even do pressups and i was lagging behind when everone went out for a jog. but i’ve been going for about 6 months now and everytime i just try my hardest and am one of the fittest there. don’t worry, with time, you’ll get fitter and fitter, just make sure you put effort into it.

First of all, WELL DONE!!!!!! I am like you, considered overweight but am actually very muscley.
I would suggest starting slow, you can try a military pace for “running” (jog 30, walk 30 steps) but as well as that try at home aerobics dvds (I suspect you’d love the tae bo ones)
just 30-40 mins of aerobics exercise on top of what you do a day will increase your stamina and get you jogging a dream :)
