I’m 16 years old and a volunteer FF. I have to do a bunch of training to be part of the dept. that they provide, but i’m looking to be stronger and gain more endurance before i start the training in spring so i’m wondering if anyone has a workout routine they used to get stronger. either as their training, or with their training. My department has a gym I can use so equipment is available for me.
but does anyone have a plan they follow or a daily routine? i really need to get stronger, but not lose any weight, as it is now, im 5’3″ and 107 lbs.
i’d appreciate anything! oh, and if maybe you have the book, “The Firefighter’s Workout Book: The 30 Minute a Day Train-for-Life Program for Men and Women” by Michael Stefano.
is it good? does it work? i’m considering buying it.
thanks!
I’m a young female FireFighter and i need to get in shape?

run a miel every day (minimum)and do 25 push ups before you go to bed and do 25 when you get out of bed
Anything that will increase your Cardio, That is the most important thing. You will be less than useless if you cannot work for more than 10 minutes on a fire. Running and lifting some weights would be good, do stairs with a weight vest on, and go hiking in full webgear and a hosepack or two on. a few months of that and you will be good to go.
