HI im a 16 year old male, 5′10, and i weigh 244lbs. i want to lose atleast 40lbs (but more) by next september (football season) because i want to play a positon that calls for a smaller man. please help,workout routines, meals, healthy snacks, whatever, just help me,please.
i am going to start walking to school and home(which is about 2.5 miles per trip,so 5 miles a day) but is that enough? im going to run the last mile home so i can get some running in.
Please,any advice or experience,help me.

i think that if you eat foods with less calories and more fibers you should lose more weight. I was with weight watchers and i bought this calculator that calculated these points and it really help i lost at least 30 pounds in 2 months!!!
try to cut back on what u eat also along with your walking and drink plenty of water but not to much and when the summer comes be as active as possible try to work out in the pool or get some friends to play practice football does this help?
Make sure you are working off as much as you are taking in.. Cut your calorie intake down some IF you need to.. Just run around the block a couple of times a day after school.. this summer swim a lot if you can.. Play baseball in the park..just get out there and get moving.. If you have the choice to stay in and staying cool , choose going out and sweating it off.. Spend the summer doing your own two-a-days…Mow with a push mower instead of a riding.. just dont starve yourself cuz then you never loose weight.. If you can join a gym you should be of age then do that as soon as you can they have racketball ,everything…Good Luck buddy…
you may not want to hear this since you are a guy but some men do it its called weight watchers point system. It will teach you to eat healthy and you can go to matings or just show up one time learn what you need for the diet and than just follow it. you can eat anything you want on the diet but if you eat something like cake than that will take up allot of the points for the day. IE lets say they say you can have25 points a day and you wake up and eat a big breakfast and you use 15 points than you only have 10 left for the day so it makes you think hard about what you are ganna eat so that you don’t have to starve for the rest of the day. Also just keep doing What your doing it is enough! try the diet I’m sure your family will help you out with the book cost its about $25 but the best $25 you will ever spend and you willget realy healthy and the more healthy you are the better you will be at sports!
You have to come up with some type of a reward system, this will help keep you motivated. One of the best things to do is make a contingency contract. Stating what you want to do, who will help you do it, and what do you get for doing it.
