Quit smoking, need some advise.?

by Workout Fiend on February 10, 2010

Hello!
I’ve recently quit smoking, and I’m trying to get healthy again. I’ve been eating well, and just recently got a free month pass to a gym by my house. I don’t know anything about working out, so I’m just looking for some tips. I don’t need to loose weight (if anything I could use to gain a few pounds), I just want to get in shape.
How often should I go to the gym?
What are good machines/workout routines for someone just trying to get in shape?

Thanks for your help!

Congratulations!

The traditional treadmill is always a good place to start. Take it easy and work your way up to a good pace. This way you give your lungs a chance to get back into the swing of things.

Most fitness centers have a basic routine that involves a number of machines. Ask around the facility. These programs were created for general fitness levels and can always be tweaked to fit your needs.

Have fun in your new life.
