To lose weight and maintain muscle should this be my workout routine?

by Workout Fiend on February 9, 2010

monday/ 5 min warmup cardio then abs, then 15 min intense cardio

tuesday/ 5 min warmup cardio then chest and shoulders then 15 min intense cardio

wednesday/ 5 min warmup cardio then back and legs then 15 min intense cardio

thursday/ 5 min warmup cardio then abs then 15 min intense cardio

friday/ 5 min warmup cardio then biceps and triceps then 15 min intense cardio

is this a good workout routine to tone my body and maintain muscle?

should work. just be sure to stay hydrated. 32 oz of water between 9 and 10:30 in the morning, and another 32 oz of water between 2 and 3:30 in the afternoon.

And eat the number of calories for what you want to weigh–there are sites out there that can give you those numbers.

The excess should fall right off.

the intense cardio is great to lose weight. Especially if it’s interval cardio training.

Oh, hey, maybe you can even push it to 30 mins each session

Ideally, you should work out your muscles every other day, allowing 1 day rest in between.

Why not do 50 push ups each day? This alone will kick-start your chest.

Also eat small, frequent meals, every 3-4 hours to keep your metabolism spiked.

You should j ust tweak your schedule a bit. It’s a great schedule though, I must say.

Don’t worry too much about losing muscle..Most often guys are worried about this and with no real logical reason behind it.

Just do weight training every other dayand you will be fine.

On one day you can work your upper body and on the other day your lower body.

Make it simple.

and do 200 sit ups each day to sculpt your abs. 50 regular crunches, 50 leg raises, and 50 obliques(each side)

Then do stimulated bicycle movements(on your back with your legs) to get really sculpted abs.

Good luck!

Stick with it, consistency is key
