What is the best workout routine for a 26 yr old male who wants to lose bodyfat and preserve/build lean muscle

Aerobic excercise. Running walking biking. weightlifting with lighter weights and high reps. Not to light of weights though. Don’t eat to much and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables.

Pleas don’t listen to the “aerobics and light weight-high rep” people. Muscle burns fat while resting AND exercising. Increase muscle mass to burn fat. Intense weightlifting (to the point that you are noticeably sore the next day) and a high protein moderately low fat diet with “good” carbs (whole grain, not enriched white flour) is the surest way to lose fat, firm up, and keep it off. Focus on lifts that work the major muscle groups first- squats, bench press, lat pull downs. Once these no longer make you sore, start to perform more isolation exercises. Any mens’
fitness mag will have hundreds of examples.

im in my 20s and doing a good eating and excercise plan i developed myself. and its working great. sometimes you need to mix and match for the lifestyle you lead.

Well, it is bit difficult to give any best work out routine to you unless I know the body type of you.

Before giving the work out routine, I do so many tests to the individuals. Such as cardio fitness, endurance test, flexibilty test etc. Upon getting the result out of this and kowing your body type, I prescribe the initial work out routine for three weeks or so. You will be under the strict surveilance. On seeing your performance and body reactions further work out will be chalked out.

So, the routine go good for one person may not be good for another.
