workout routines for the gym?

by Workout Fiend on January 29, 2010

ok i’ve just joined the gym saturday and ive already gone 3 times this week. I am an 18 yr old female who wants to lose weight. so far ive tried walking, the tredmill, and the bicycle machines but the day after the gym i am never sore. most of my weight is in my stomach, ass, and legs. Are there any tips for working those specific areas while I’m at the gym or any work out routines????

On the treadmill, go incline at least 5% at a brisk walk, bikes aren’t very great, do leg presses as well and if you have the stair simulator do that too.

The areas you want to target are greatly influenced by diet. This does not mean that you eat less however, it means that you eat BETTER. No dairy, low sugar, low salt(makes you hold water and get jiggley) no soda or alcohol, carbs before 4 pm, NEVER skip breakfast (OLD FASHIONED,not instant OATMEAL and some eggs is the BEST!!) and lean Protein(chicken, fish).

The exercises you are doing at the gym are cardio machines. Don’t overdue it! People tend to translate their eagerness into overtraining which could make you feel depressed, or lead you towards a sports injury. 3xs/week with rest days inbetween is cool, and its what I do.

You really need someone to show you how to lift weights(trainer or bodybuilder). This will not make you bigger, but you will build lean muscle that will also aid in burning fat in your target areas, and you will feel stronger in your day to day activities too!

The reason why you don’t feel sore could be because the activities you are doing are within the comfort zone for your body. The body is so smart, that you have to continually challenge it to get it to change.

Willpower and resolve will only get you so far…you need information, so definately try to connect with a trainer.

Rock on!
