Is this a good work out routine for upper body?

February 10th, 2010

I’m a 15 year old male. I’ve been working out for around 11 months now on the bowflex and I mix up my workouts so my body doesn’t get used to it.

I read in Men’s Fitness that doing too much can overwork and lead to smaller muscles and less strength.

An axample of my workout would be:
3 exercises for biceps. My first exercise is set at 65 lbs on each arm. I lift each arm independentally until failure. I then do some laying bicep curls until failure, which is only around 3-6 reps. And a final sitting bicep curl(s) with around 2-3 reps.

Then I take a 5 minute break/work on abs. I repeat the whole process again.

I am currently doing 3 SETS of the execises stated above. Is that overworking? Is it not enough? If not, what can I do to fix it?

This summer, I plan on increasing my sets to 4 and then 5, along with increasing my weight, because I’ll have more time away from school this summer.

Thanks for the help and if I’m not right, please feel free to tell me.

Is this enough of a workout to lose weight?

February 10th, 2010

I am 29, 5′3, and weight 140. I want to get back down below 120. My diet is great, but I was really irresponsible while I was pregnant and gained a lot of weight (baby is now 18m). I have a workout routine I have been on for about a week now with a friend, and was wondering if this would be enough exercise to lose the weight, and about how long until I should see some results. And if it is not, please tell me what I’ll need to do as well. I only have an hour each day at the gym, since I bring the baby and that’s all I’m allowed to leave her for. Thanks so much!
1 mile on the eliptical, 1.5 mile on the treadmill (3-3.5mph 1.5 incline) and 2 miles on the bike.
I actually think I’ve lost a little weight already, but don’t want to weigh myself again until I have been doing this for a month.
wow the spam on here is getting rediculous!

this lost version of breakfast club? This I would love to see! I know it says hughes had the only copy but just wondering if its been released or going to be since he died recently. here’s the description from imdb trivia:

“John Hughes originally wanted “The Breakfast Club” to be a 2-1/2 hour movie. However, many of the scenes were cut out and the negatives destroyed. John Hughes said in Première that he had the only complete copy of The Breakfast Club on film. Among the cut scenes from the movie (some filmed, some only written) are: -Carl predicts where the five kids will be in 30 years. Bender will have killed himself, Claire will have had “2 boob jobs and a face lift,” Brian will have become very successful but die of a heart attack due to the stress of the high paying job. Allison will be a great poet but no one will care, and Andrew will marry a gorgeous airline stewardess who will become fat after having kids. -In a dream sequence, Allison imagines Andrew as a gluttonous Viking, Bender as a prisoner, Claire as a bride, Brian as an astronaut, and herself as a vampire. In an unfilmed alternative to this dream sequence, all five kids imagine random things, including cars, naked women, Godzilla, beer, and fighter planes, and these things end up filling the room until Vernon interrupts. -John Bender was not going to walk to school in the original script. He was going to be driven by his dad in a rusty tow truck, and have a brief fight with him before his dad drives off. Bender also tossed a bagged lunch, his father saying “You are a waste of lunch meat!” -After Bender demonstrates “Life at Big Bri’s house” Brian stops Bender and corrects him with a much more pessimistic version of the skit. Claire then proceeds to act out her life before asking Bender to demonstrate his version. Bender’s routine changes as well here. After Bender mimics his mom, he stops, commenting that “then they make me work to pay off the dentist for the teeth HE busts.” -The scene where Andrew and Allison are walking to get the sodas is extended to a point where Allison pulls out a pack of cigarettes and smokes one. -After getting the sodas, Bender shakes his can violently and places it among the five to see who gets the rigged one. Allison ends up getting it, and when she opens the can, all the soda squirts directly into her mouth. -After Vernon asks who has to use the lavatory, the five go to the bathroom. Vernon gives the boys 2 minutes and the girls 3 minutes. Claire catches Allison in a stall eating a bag of chips, repulsing her. Bender mocks Brian for sitting down to pee instead of using a urinal. -Several staff members were cut out of the script before filming. Dr. Lange, a social studies teacher who dresses oddly, and Robin, a gym teacher. Robin helps Vernon on a few workout machines until Vernon injures his back, and she eventually visits the students while they are in their circle in the library. Robin initially replaced many of Carl’s scenes and Carl was originally set to be a minor character with only 2 scenes.”

Where is the best place to put an ab workout in this routine?

February 9th, 2010

I decided that first I am going to warm up on the stationary bike for 7 minutes. Then do strength training on either lower or upper body. After that I will do my cardio workout. Should I do the abs last?

Is this a good workout daily routine to help lose weight and look good?

February 8th, 2010

I’ll do this everyday. Then, when I get to a desired level (good weight), I’ll do it maybe every other day:

-Tread climber for 30 minutes to 1 hour a day
-10-15 minute run outside
-10 pushups every hour for, say, 8 hours a day (so 80 pushups total a day, or every weekday)
-Lunges regularly
-3 sets of 10 reps on bench press
-Other weight exercises for the same length (3 sets, 10 reps)

Eat healthy too.
Its 10 pushups every hour. So, for example, 10 pushups at 2:00pm. Then, at 3:00pm, do another 10 pushups. And so on…

My boyfriend masturbates about every 3 days even though I am more than willing to have sex. Is this normal?

February 8th, 2010

I am very frisky and find that i am often the one who starts sexual acts with him but often he just isn’t in the mood. A week ago i was searching on the computer and had to look through the history to find a page a had been on earlier for a research project for school. I found huge amounts of porn from that day on the history and searched back and found he on average looks at porn at least every 3 days usually when i am asleep or right before i get home from my daily afternoon workout. I am more than willing to have sex with him whenever including sexy scenarios that I make up to spice things since we have been together for so long. When ever we have sex he just gets the job done ( for himself) and no longer finishes me like he use to when we first started dating. I feel like he no longer cares about my needs. I am consistently the more creative one in bed including frequent BJs to make sure he is satisfied, yet he finds a need to masturbate. I feel jealous when i see he looks at these other girls even though i am a very fit athlete (train twice a day) with curves and am afraid he no longer is interest in me because we have been together for such a long time . I am afraid he is board of me. I realize men need their alone time every once in a while but i feel every three day or less is too frequent. It bothers me so much that lately i can’t even enjoy sex because i feel he is thinking about those other girls. Should I feel so insecure? Should I find someone who finds me more attractive?

Is this a good workout routine?

February 8th, 2010

I changed my workout plan and have been doing this for 2 weeks now.
1)Pull ups-
Narrow Grip:overhand and underhand 1×10 for each excersize, continuous
Wide Grip:overhand and underhand 3×5
2)4 Lower Back exercises like super mans, etc. 3×10
3)Leg Lifts-right leg, left leg, then both(each leg is a set) 3×20
4)100 crunches
5)40 push ups
Using a 20lb dumbbell-
5)bicep curls 3×10
6)tricep curls 3×15
I usually make the last set of tricep curls 10
7)After this I run 1-3 miles depending on how I feel.
I just turned 15. Starting to see results.
i do 3×10 for the narrow pull ups
not 1×10;;;;;;;;

Is this a good workout to build arm and stomach muscle?

February 7th, 2010

Hey everyone, I’m starting to get into fitness and I was wondering what yall thought of my daily routine:

1) I wake up, take 5 equate fiber therapy tablets (as recommended) and take 1 equate men’s health one daily dietary supplement

2) I spend the day drinking lots of water and take another five fiber tablets

3) Come night I take 2 10 pound weights and do 20 simutaneously up and down lifts in a fast pace motion, then I twist around and do 20 up down lifts simutaneously. Then I put both weights infront of me like I am holding a plattar of food and do 20 ups and downs. Then I go back to do 20 up and down lifts regularly. I then lay on the ground and do 50 normal crunches with a 10 pound weight on my chest. Then I do 50 crunches focusing on one direction, then 50 going the other direction, then I do 50 with a 10 pound weight on my chest again normally

4) After that, I drink about 3 scoops (around 60g protein) of whey protein
